Jessica's Note

The only thing more fun than learning is helping others learn, too! MSU Academic Technology and Outreach will host a ROADS (Rovers, Observation, and Drone Survey) Hub event on May 19, 2023, for teams from all over Montana. This year's ROADS event is based on the upcoming Artemis mission.

The ROADS program is part of the NASA grant developed by Northwest Earth & Space Science Pathways (NESSP) based at Central Washington University to offer students hands-on experiences exploring STEM concepts based on real-life NASA missions.

If you would like to assist these student teams in their quest to learn about science and technology on May 19, please click or tap here to fill out the volunteer form. For more information about the event, click or tap here to visit the Artemis ROADS Hub Event web page.

May Friday Forum

Ninety Days: The 2023 Montana Legislature

The Montana Legislature’s 68th session ends May 5. Amanda Eggert, who will speak on energy and environmental issues; Arren Kimbel-Sannet, who will discuss the executive branch, the judiciary and constitutional amendments; and Alex Sakariassen, who will talk about voter access and education.

Susan Dana, an MSU emerita professor of business law, will give a presentation on legislation most at risk to constitutional challenge.

OLLI will reserve 30 minutes for your questions. OLLI intends for this session to be informative and non-partisan reporting, not commentary on the legislators or wisdom (or not) of individual legislation. Therefore, please frame your questions accordingly.

We strive to keep member participation affordable so everyone 50 years of age and better can engage with us in lifelong learning. We also understand that program or event fees can sometimes be prohibitive. Therefore, OLLI at MSU offers financial assistance for both tuition and membership.

We are grateful to the family and friends of our late OLLI at MSU leader and consummate lifelong learner, Doug Young, for establishing the Doug Young Memorial Scholarship Fund. We encourage you to apply for membership or program tuition assistance as needed and encourage your neighbor or friend to do the same.
