After spending the majority of yesterday on the phone, I have some new information on the City of Eureka's sewer lateral ordinance. The new point of sale ordinance will go into effect on January 6th, 2023. If you already have a Eureka property in escrow before 1/6/23, then you will receive an exemption that allows you to close escrow without having to supply the buyer with a sewer lateral certificate of completion.
