We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING

God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:

you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

The Book of Common Prayer

Sundays ~ 9:30 AM ~ Parish Hall

All of our worship comes directly from the Book of Common Prayer. The first BCP was revolutionary when it was adopted in 1549, and the theology and practices continue to inspire people today. In a seven week class starting on Kickoff Sunday (August 14), Father Michael and Rev. Katie will be surveying the BCP and discussing its history, its theology, and how you can use it to deepen your faith.

The Hope of Glory

Sundays ~ 9:15 AM

Rm. 31 of Education Bldg. or by Zoom link here

Meeting ID: 878 4884 3240 Password: 510649

The sessions of this book by Jon Meacham end this Sunday. Jesus' two last words from the cross, "It is Finished" and "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit," will be the focus of the discussion. Did Jesus complete and accomplish all he wanted? What would it be like to put complete trust in God? These are questions about Jesus' experience of crucifixion which will be explored.

"Our House"

Sundays ~ 9:30 AM ~ Library in Education Bldg.

Whether it is a combination of aging parents, angsty teens, troublesome tots, killer careers or maybe even an overambitious DIY project, mid-life often means many competing priorities. We can have it all, just not all at once and all on our own. Come explore the word of God, discuss your journey, deepen your relationships and maybe gain some clarity and peace.

We extend the love of God (Outreach/Parishioner Support)

Montclair Elementary Mentors/Volunteers

If you are interested in serving as a mentor – someone who can commit to regularly listening, supporting, and encouraging a student for one hour each week or every other week during the school year – please email Honey Harris. We will also have occasional opportunities for volunteers to assist with class parties, science labs, etc.

Bridging the Gap

Our neighbors without homes are in great need of new or used clothes (especially men’s), socks, washcloths, and toiletries – including bars of soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, hand sanitizer, and hand cream. Donations can be left in the boxes labeled 'Bridging the Gap' in the back hallway of the church offices. Please click here for more information on how to help.

SEEKERS (for 2nd - 8th grades)

Wednesdays ~ 2:30-3:15 PM ~ Undercroft

This fall, an interactive adventure in following Jesus is coming to Christ Church! On Wednesday afternoons, 2nd - 8th graders are becoming "Seekers" and will solve a weekly mystery using scripture, finding out who God is, how he works, and what he calls us to do. Tess (Youth Director) and Victoria (Dir. of Children & Family Ministry) are leading this group from 2:30-3:15 PM on Wednesdays in the Undercroft. Each week's mystery is a stand alone case, so this is great for a year-long activity or as needed afternoon fun. There is an overall theme to the year, so we hope you will join us for as many as you can! Registration is required to participate (especially for families wanting us to pick up their child from EDS and walk them over) but that is the most formal thing about this whole afternoon! Register here. Are you ready for an adventure? We are! Interested in joining Dr. Jason and the Chorister program at 3:30? This is the perfect bridge for families that have early release and don't want the back and forth!

Christ Church is beginning a new ministry called the A/V Tech team and we would love to have you be involved! We are seeking individuals in the congregation who are passionate about using their technology gifts at Christ Church. By livestreaming worship services and operating the A/V system, you create the online worship experience and make visitors feel welcome. This ministry is the gateway for how many people come to know about Christ Church and stay engaged when they are not able to attend services in person.

What’s involved:  Learn how to operate the cameras and live streaming behind the scenes during the 10:30 service. Each team member will serve one Sunday each month as you are available.

If your 6th – 12th grader is interested in serving on a team, please email Traci Hart.

BE A MONTCLAIR ELEMENTARY MENTOR/VOLUNTEER!

Over the past several years, Christ Church has built a strong relationship with the students and staff at Montclair Elementary. Of course, that has looked very different over the past two years and we have greatly missed our in-person interactions with the students. Fortunately, we are thrilled that we will be able to return to in-person mentoring this school year! If you are interested in serving as a mentor – someone who can commit to regularly listening, supporting, and encouraging a student for one hour each week or every other week during the school year – please email Honey Harris. We will also have occasional opportunities for volunteers to assist with class parties, science labs, etc.

ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS

Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. After the Sunday services, the altar flower arrangements are reworked into smaller arrangements. These arrangements are delivered to members of our parish family that are unable to attend a Sunday service. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here and on the information table in the Parish Office.

CARE IN COMMUNITY

Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
