College Hill Reservoir Replacement Project

November 25, 2024

Dear Neighbor:

The contractor has canceled today’s blast due to water accumulation at the site over the weekend. They are completing mitigation today with the goal of resuming regular blasting tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

Other Updates

Thanksgiving Schedule

Work will be paused on the site on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no drilling or blasting on either day.

Vibration Report

Our vibration consultant, Dr. Chris Breeds, Ph.D., P.E., CEng., is working on a report summarizing vibration data from the first three blasts. We will send a link to the document as soon as it is available.

Stormwater Management

Water is currently being pumped to the footprint of the former small north reservoir where it can filter into the ground. The team is looking into other options for water management as the winter season continues.

Coffee with Laura

There will only be one session next month, on Thursday, December 19. If you would like to speak with Laura before or after the next session, please respond to this email and we will find a time that works.

Controlled Blasting Sequence

This map shows the different sections in the blast area and the planned order of blasts. The areas shown in green are blasts that were completed last week.

Note: Areas are approximate. The order of blasts may change at any time due to conditions and other work happening at the site. The 24th blast location will be determined by our contractor.
