Shepherd I.S.D. Spotlight

SISD would like to thank Chief Sparks and our police officers for providing assistance to traffic on Friday morning. Between our officers and maintenance crew they made sure all students were able to get to school safely and that traffic flowed easily.
"Shout out to Shepherd ISD police dept. for traffic control at the railroad tracks until railroad crew arrives. and Shepherd ISD Maintenance crews for a quick fix to allow traffic flow."
"Thank y’all !!! They sure did a great job controlling traffic 👏🏽"
"It would have been a nightmare without them."
Staff & Students across the District
First grade students develop math skills while working on ST Math during workstation time.
SISD New Teachers learned about the engagement strategy The Texas Two Step. It is a great strategy for creating discussion among students. They also practiced the Aggressive Monitoring strategy. Teachers monitor the quality of student work while recording data and providing in-the-moment feedback to students.
Students in English I (E. Likens class) are completing a three-day project explaining the role of photojournalism during the Great Depression.
The Shepherd ISD District Special Services Team took this pic after our district special education staff meeting. The first thing we did in our meeting was make our social contract in line with our district's Capturing Kids Hearts mission. Our department had things like "Bring your role," "Patience," "Know when it's not personal," "Respect," "Honesty," and best of all, "Sense of Humor"!
SMS September Students of the Month.
Great job to our Star 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Pirates!!
