There is less than one month left until Greenlight's 20th Anniversary Celebration. I cannot wait to see you there and raise funds to serve Illinois families for another 20 years!

In other exciting news, Grandparents Day was yesterday, September 8. This day is a reminder of the nearly 100,000 incredible grandparents raising grandchildren (GRGs) across Illinois. These grandparents show love and dedication through the joys and challenges of unexpectedly raising a child. Greenlight supports GRGs with legal and social services, including adoptions and guardianships.

GRANDPARENTS DAY

The theme for Grandparents Day was Grand Minds: Learn, Love, Legacy. This theme highlighted grandparents' impactful role as inspirational mentors and teachers, leaving a legacy for generations to come.

At Greenlight Family Services, we witness this intergenerational empowerment every day as we watch children learn, grow, and thrive in the care of their grandparents. For Greenlight, celebrating grandparents continues throughout the month, culminating in Greenlight's 20th Anniversary Celebration which raises critical funds for grandfamilies.

THE RED ZONE

As Fall approaches and college students return to campus, the Red Zone begins as well. The Red Zone spans the start of the Fall semester through Thanksgiving break and is a period of heightened risk for student sexual assault.

Greenlight Counseling empowers student survivors of sexual harm to find healing and reconnection through free, confidential counseling services. Student survivors may contact Greenlight to access 20 free therapy sessions.
