Fee: Free for current Faith Forward congregation subscribers; $100 for non-subscriber congregations (no participant limit) or $25 per person.

The Faith Forward program out of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas is excited to offer an online session of our UU History series for all congregations! This series is an incredible opportunity for all visitors, members, and friends to learn more about the rich and deep history of our faith. This series approaches history from the starting point of compelling stories and personalities; each session will focus on one or two people from our history. Participants explore the questions these people faced and make connections with their own lives and the world around them today. The overarching question is: how can history be translated into our religious life and practice?

BIBLICAL LITERACY A GREAT SUCCESS

Last fall we introduced to you our newest series on the Faith Forward ADVANCED Path, Biblical Literacy for Unitarian Universalists. We ran the series here in Dallas in early 2022, and it was a HUGE success!

Over the course of eleven 75-minute sessions Biblical Literacy for Unitarian Universalists explores texts and themes from the Hebrew and Christian scriptures and invites participants to reflect on connections to their own lives and to Unitarian Universalism historically and in our time. As with all scripture and story, we ask not “is this true?” but rather “what is true about this?” in order to discern its meaning for our lives.

Biblical Literacy for Unitarian Universalists is available to all Faith Forward Path subscribers, and is available for subscription on its own. We hope you'll consider offering Biblical Literacy for Unitarian Universalists in your congregation! More information HERE.
