SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH

September is suicide awareness and prevention month. Pick up a free 988 Suicide and Crisis Yard Sign (in English and Spanish) at River Forest Township’s office (8020 Madison St) during our office hours. The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources. Learn more.

Coffee Mondays are normally the first Monday of each month from 10-11A at the River Forest Public Library.

COFFEE MONDAY - SEPTEMBER 9

The next Coffee Monday is September 9th at 10-11AM at the River Forest Public Library. In September, Brian Wolowitz, the Adult Librarian, will talk about new books that are coming out and Curtis Thomas, one of our regular participants will talk a bit about Chicago History.

River Forest Township at the 2023 Lemon Aid Event

9-11 LEMON AID - SEPTEMBER 11


Kids raising money for other kids in memory of what happened in 2001. Join River Forest Township on September 11 from 3-7PM on the 700 block of Bonnie Brae. We’ll be there with our spin-the-wheel to learn about our programs with plenty of giveaways and a conversation corner for adults looking to sit and relax while the kids play. Donate to the cause.

PARENTS NIGHT - VAPING AND CANNABIS - SEPTEMBER 12

Join us at this free event with light refreshments on Thursday, September 12 at 7PM at the Oak Park Township Conference Room (105 S Oak Park Ave). We’ll discuss what are the risks of young people vaping. This safe space will allow parents to share their experiences.

VOTER REGISTRATION DAY - SEPTEMBER 19

Stop by the River Forest Community Center lobby (8020 Madison St) September 19 from 11AM-1PM and 4-6PM to register to vote in the upcoming elections in honor of Voter Registration Day earlier that week in advance of the November 5 election. We’ll also help residents sign up to vote by mail going forward. To learn more about voter registration deadlines, or to download a registration form, visit the Cook County Clerk's website.
