Greetings From Mr. Estes... |
Dear SASEAS Families,
It is great having the faculty, staff, and students back in the building! As Fr Del has previously mentioned , our Saint Mary Magdalene Family churches are really just buildings, the people are the true Church; this applies to our school as well. We each bring our own unique God given talents and gifts to the building to create a community that serves the Church while learning and growing together. I am blessed to be a part of this community.
With a return to school also comes the need for a return to necessary routines in our lives. As I have mentioned before, getting everyone out the door each morning is not something that I miss from my earlier parenting days. Just a friendly reminder that students need to be in the building each day by 8:25, doors open at 8:10. In addition to morning prayer, pledge, and announcements, teachers conduct several “housekeeping” activities during the ten minute period between 8:25 and 8:35 so every minute counts. Thank you for your help in getting each day off to a great start, it really can positively impact the rest of the day.
I want to thank everyone for a great start to the year! There are always little adjustments that need to be made as we settle into our routines but I am very pleased with how things have gone these first few days. I’m looking forward to another great year growing and learning together as disciples of Christ.
We have two opportunities to come together as disciples outside the academic day this month. Meet The Teacher is scheduled for next week, September 12, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School. Additionally, our parish family picnic will be taking place once again at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford on September 22. Please see the reminder section for details on these and other upcoming events.
Make it a great week!
God Bless,
Paul Estes

I am amazed at how quickly our preschool children adjust to arrival, dismissal, and the classroom routines. Things are running smoothly during this second week of school. I hope they have been telling you all about their days here.
Our three-year-old classes are busy reviewing all the classroom routines they learned last week. Mrs. Christina’s and Mrs. Sheila’s classes are learning about red and green choices, and are learning each other’s names. They are practicing the Sign of the Cross in religion.
The four-year-old classes are focused on “All About Me” as they draw self-portraits in art class and graph their hair and eye color. They are practicing letter strokes in handwriting and the site word this week is “I”. They are learning about the number zero in math and AB patterns. In religion they are learning that God made them.
The theme in our 5-year-old class is “Pete the Cat” as they make Pete the Cat faces in art and give him different colored school shoes. They are reading Pete the Cat stories too. They are discovering the letter “C” and the sight word “the” in language arts, and the number “1” in math.
Have a blessed week!
Mrs. Aimee
