Matching Facade Grant Program - Phase 2 will open on 8/1

Building on the efforts from Phase 1, Discover Haverford and Haverford Township are happy to announce the opening of the Haverford Township Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program – Phase 2 which will continue to provide matching grants to businesses, nonprofits or commercial property owners for the purpose of promoting economic recovery and community revitalization through aesthetically improved business properties, visible from our public streets. Phase 2 will have expanded awards with the Township matching an applicant’s investment in qualified improvements, dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000. Funds for this service are provided to the Township by the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act. The program administrator on behalf of the Township of Haverford is the non-for-profit agency, Discover Haverford (HPED). Applicants who were previously awarded grants under Phase 1 may reapply under Phase 2 as long as their total award between the two phases does not exceed $25,000.

Discover Haverford Welcomes new Project Coordinator

Discover Haverford welcomes our newest staff member Sarah Cazella. Sarah brings a background in program development, event planning and publishing. She will work 12 hours per week, assisting with our projects and programs, fundraising, volunteer management, communications, and office management.

Discover Haverford board and staff members invited our Premium & Platinum level sponsors to join us for a drink and appetizers on the new rooftop deck at Brick & Brew on July 12th.

When we added a premium sponsor level in 2022, we were thrilled when several of our former platinum sponsors moved up to the premium level. What we hadn't anticipated, was that many of our former gold sponsors moved up the platinum level, in turn. We wanted to find a way to thank them for their very generous support this year!

Discover Haverford Welcomes Buona Sera

Join us in welcoming Buona Sera to Havertown! Head Chef Pedro Perez and his entire family moved to Havertown from New York City a few years ago and opened their new restaurant at 2126 Darby Road in June.

Originally from Ecuador, this family immigrated to the United States with a dream and a vision for one day opening their own restaurant.

Perez worked as the Head Chef of Arno, just blocks away from Madison Square Garden, an upscale dining experience near the Broadway Theaters. You can feel the passion that this family exudes, especially Head Chef Perez. He humbly stated, “I like to keep perfecting my recipes by mixing cultures and flavors, and I prioritize quality over quantity.”
