PROJECT UPDATES

Truman Blvd. Extension Project


Norton Rd. is closed for the remainder of the Truman Blvd. Extension Project. Click the link below for details of this closure.


The City of Nixa is using state, federal, and city funding on the construction project to extend Truman Blvd south to the current intersection of Norton Rd. & Pembrook Ave. 


Construction is scheduled to be complete in June 2023.

Project Updates

Route 14 Widening Project


MoDOT is widening Rt. 14 (Mount Vernon St.). to five lanes - two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane - between Fort Street and Tiffany Boulevard. The project is anticipated to be completed Summer 2023. Multiple factors, including weather, make project schedules subject to change.

Project Updates

MoDOT Nighttime Lane Closures on Rt. 14


MoDOT will be working along Route 14 throughout the month of May. This will include nighttime lane closures along Route 14.


Where: Missouri Route 14 (Mt. Vernon Street/Jackson Road) nighttime lane closures between Tiffany Boulevard in Nixa and 32nd Street in Ozark.


When: 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

McCauley Park Inclusive Playground


Nixa Parks & Recreation is excited to announce a grand opening ceremony for the new inclusive playground at McCauley Park will be held Tuesday, May 2nd, 5pm to 7pm. All members of the Nixa community are invited to attend this ceremony. In conjunction with the ribbon cutting for the new nearly $1 million playground, we will celebrate that PlayCore, a leading company in play and recreation research, programming, and products, recently awarded its National Demonstration Site Award to Nixa Parks & Recreation.



The playground is now open to the public!

Congratulations to Tim Hammer, Tree Trimmer Foreman for the city, for becoming ISA Utilities Specialist Certified. Tim has been with the city’s electric department since March 2022 and brought with him an abundance of knowledge. After studying and passing his test through the International Society of Arboriculture, Tim now has even more credentials in electrical line clearance, electrical pruning, as well as public relations. We are very fortunate to have him and his expertise in the city.
