Yoga & Meditation: Tuesday & Thursdays at 9am
Make time to take care of yourself. Join our volunteer, Laurie Walker, for meditation and/or yoga online. In addition to whatever is going on in your personal life, we are all living in the middle of so many converging issues – health, geopolitical, environmental, and more. If we are going to thrive – we have to increase our resilience. Regular yoga practice is a powerful vehicle to do just this.

You will find tools of breath, movement, and meditation that promote a sense of calm resilience.
  • Yoga classes are on Zoom Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 26-June 9 at 9:00 a.m. EST.*
  • Meditation Circle meets Tuesdays from April 26-June 7 at 10:15 EST.*

SCC members receive complementary access to the courses. Email Laurie for more info. at laurie1059@gmail.com

Daisy Time
BY MARJORIE PICKTHALL
See, the grass is full of stars,
Fallen in their brightness;
Hearts they have of shining gold,
Rays of shining whiteness.

Buttercups have honeyed hearts,
Bees they love the clover,
But I love the daisies' dance
All the meadow over.

Blow, O blow, you happy winds,
Singing summer's praises,
Up the field and down the field
A-dancing with the daisies.

Senior Living: Spring Cleaning Safety Tips

  • Get rid of expired or unused medication. Store meds in a cool, dry, dark place safely away from small children who may visit.
  • Keep an updated list of current medications in case of emergency.
  • Use cordless cleaning tools and lightweight equipment for household chores.
  • Check your smoke detector, fire extinguishers and Emergency Kits regularly.
  • Keep an emergency contact list
GET INVOLVED

We are a small, but mighty, volunteer run organization. We could not operate with our the generous support from our volunteers, community partners and donors. Below are a few ways you can get involved.
Become a Volunteer
As spring and summer lie ahead, we have an increased number of service requests from our members. Would you be available to drive a member to an appointment or join them on walk? No ongoing commitment necessary, just volunteer as you are able. Reach out to Ellen at seniorslkn@gmail.com today to join our roster.
