Chancellor Donald, MD, Medical Director of Cancer Management and Oncology services at University Medical Center, has been elected to the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Executive Committee as a councilor. His term begins after the ASH Annual Meeting in December 2024.
A member of ASH since 2008, Dr. Donald has shown unwavering commitment to advancing health equity and advocating for patients with hematologic disorders, particularly those facing care disparities. He has previously chaired ASH’s Committee on Practice and served on its Health Equity Task Force.

Call for Proposals: FY25 Office of Research Bridge Fund Support
APPLICATION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2024
Purpose
To sustain competitively funded research projects that have temporarily lost extramural support, the OoR Bridge Fund provides one‐time support to eligible Principal Investigators to assist with re‐establishing external funding.
A primary objective of the support is to keep experienced research teams together; thus, priority will be given to retain project staffing temporarily. Also, special consideration will be given to multi‐investigator, convergent, and center‐type projects.
Eligibility
Bridge Fund support is intended for those Principal Investigators who have experienced a substantial reduction from extramural sources, and who can reasonably anticipate regaining competitive support in the upcoming year.

ORAU Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Grant Program

FULL APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 8, 2025
AWARD AMOUNT: $5,000 for one year (June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026)
The applicant’s institution is required to match the award with at least an additional $5,000.
The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards Program provides seed money for research by junior faculty at ORAU member institutions. These competitive research awards often result in additional funding from other sources. Eligibility for the Powe Awards is open to full-time assistant professors within two years of their tenure track appointment at the time of application (January 1, 2023, to January 7, 2025).
Only two nominations are allowed per institution. Qualifying individuals must send a pre-proposal with CV as one pdf to dlovrov@tulane.edu no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024. Please use this form when preparing your pre-proposal.
