REMEMBERING SAL FAZZOLARI
As you all know, our dear friend and colleague Sal Fazzolari passed away a few weeks ago. It was a shock to us all. We want to thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and condolences that we received from the 555 Madison Avenue community. Sal meant so much to so many people and his memory will always be a blessing. Here’s a link to the profile piece we did on Sal back in April.

NEW YORK REACHES MILESTONE, REVISED COVID PROTOCOLS FOR 555 MADISON AVENUE

On Tuesday, June 15th, Governor Cuomo announced that New York State had reached an important milestone. Seventy percent of residents in the state over the age of 18 have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. With this achievement the state lifted most of its remaining mandated restrictions. Fireworks lit up the sky.

In light of this, we have re-evaluated our protocols and are making a few adjustments. Here are the highlights:

  • We still recommend that visitors and tenants wear masks in all common areas given the volume of the people that enter the building daily. Policies within individual spaces are up to each tenant.
  • We will no longer be requiring a temperature check as you enter the building.
  • Elevator restrictions has been removed.
  • Our staff, vendors and building service providers will continue to be required to wear masks.

Thank you so much for your continued cooperation.

MEGA-CONCERT COMING TO CENTRAL PARK

In a sign that New York is back in action, plans for a mega-concert in Central Park are underway. The tentative date for the big event on the Great Lawn is August 21st and the mayor’s office has asked producer Clive Davis to sign up acts. Here’s a recent New York Times piece on the developing event.

NEED YOUR VACCINATION SHOT?

All residents in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut over the age of 12 are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine should they elect to. Vaccination is our greatest tool in the fight against this pandemic. If you have already gotten your vaccination, thank you for doing your part. If not, here’s where you can get more information on vaccine sites in your home state.

Dear Aleisa,

Office air conditioning can be a bit too cool for my liking on some days. I have a private office. I was wondering if I can adjust the air conditioning in my private space?
Sincerely,
Wearing a Sweater in June

Dear Wearing a Sweater in June,

Our engineering team is vigilant about monitoring the building temperature and making sure it is as comfortable and consistent as possible for everyone. But of course, every individual is different. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust the temperature setting on a room-by-room basis in the building. The temperature is controlled building-wide. However, if you are in an exterior office, you can shut off the HVAC air flow entirely to that space which gives you some flexibility. We can always visit your space to advise you.

Sincerely,
Aleisa
