Patrick Daymond to Preach This Sunday Join us for worship this Sunday as we welcome Patrick Daymond, former Pastoral Resident at Fourth Church, who will preach at the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. Some of you will remember that, in September 2005, Patrick joined the Fourth Church staff as a Pastoral Resident, having graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with concentrations in biblical studies and homiletics. Upon completion of the residency program, he was called to serve as Pastor of Sixth Grace Presbyterian Church of Chicago. He currently serves as Pastor of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Long Island, New York. He is also enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Garrett Theological Seminary and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, focusing on African American congregational leadership. Patrick and his wife, Antonia, are the proud parents of twin sons. We are delighted to welcome Patrick back to the Fourth Church pulpit this Sunday! back to top |

This Sunday Is Reformation Sunday This Sunday is Reformation Sunday, a day when we recall the rich heritage in the Protestant tradition. The Presbyterian Church (USA) grew out of the Reformation of the sixteenth century under leaders such as John Calvin and John Knox. It was on October 31, 1517, that Martin Luther posted his ninety-five theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, a significant event in the history of the Reformed tradition. Reformation Day is also a day when we remember and give thanks for Reformation leaders and all others who have kept the faith. back to top

It's Also Commitment Sunday
This Sunday is also Commitment Sunday for the 2014 Annual Appeal for Fourth Presbyterian Church and Chicago Lights, a day when we celebrate all we are able to do together through our generous response to God's blessings in our lives.
It is through worship, education and discipleship, mission and service that we truly are the church together, living out our call to love and serve all of God's children. On Commitment Sunday, we join together--each a living stone of this church--to pledge our commitment to the 2014 Annual Appeal, that this community might continue to proclaim the mighty acts of God and be a light for this city.
We are grateful to all who have already made a pledge to the 2014 Annual Appeal. Those who have not yet completed a 2014 giving response card are asked to do so; cards were sent to members' homes and are also available in the pew racks this Sunday and online.
For more information, stop by Coffee Hour this Sunday or contact Andrea Miller. back to top |

They're posted online and provide a fun glimpse of what several participants described as a "wonderfully heart-warming experience" and celebration of all of God's creatures, great and small! back to top
