Burney Falls

Ranked as one of the best in California and fed by underground springs, Burney Falls was referred to as the eighth wonder of the world by President Theodore Roosevelt. Named after settler Samuel Burney whose descendants are responsible for saving the waterfall and surrounding land. The falls are 129 feet high and produce an almost constant water flow even during the dry summer months. You can follow the 1.3-mile loop trail to the base of the falls and the stunning pool that never gets much above 42 degrees. the chilly pool is a favorite of catch-and-release fly fishermen
