Sunapee Happenings
By the time you’re reading this week’s “HAPPENINGS” Punxsutawney Phil, will have appeared early this morning with his weather prediction. Will it be to the delight of skiers yearning for more days on the slopes or for gardeners who’ve been pouring thru seed catalogs and hoping for an early planting season? Weather prognosticators report that in the 136 years a certain iteration of Phil the groundhog’s predictions... he has been correct 39% of the time. A shadow will please the winter sports buffs... no shadow means daffodils will pop early.

Order your tickets now for Northern Stage production of “Heisenberg”

A 71-year old Irish butcher sits on a bench in St. Pancras Station. A 42-year old woman from New Jersey impulsively plants a kiss on his neck. What starts with an electric encounter between two strangers, grows, over six scenes, into a complex and life-changing relationship. Simon Stephens’ HEISENBERG lays bare the beauty in the natural unpredictability of human connection. The quietly powerful Heisenberg will bring us back into the much-missed Byrne Theater, for the first indoor main stage production since March 2020.

Due to an ongoing (non-COVID) illness, we have to cancel the production of "Lungs" that was scheduled to open on February 3rd. Call us at (603) 448-3750 to transfer your tickets to another show this season or to get a full refund. Of course, we will be sure to notify you about any future plans for this production.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support during these trying times. Be safe, and we will see you again soon.
Tomi dePaola exhibit continues at the Currier Museum.

Tomie dePaola (1934–2020) wrote and illustrated some 270 children’s books over his 50-year career, including picture books, folk tales, nursery rhymes, and chapter books. A longtime resident of New Hampshire, he has received numerous awards and accolades.

The Currier Museum of Art’s collection holds more than 100 works by Tomie dePaola. This exhibition celebrates the artist’s life and legacy through a selection of these illustrations.
