Our 105th home in Denton County is nearly completed! Please join us for the Dedication Ceremony of this home honoring the Sosa Family on Thursday, January 27, at 4:30 PM at 1028 E. McKinney Street in Denton. Gerard Hudspeth, the City of Denton Mayor, will be in attendance to speak on the issue of affordable housing in Denton.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This will never be a world of equality, of fairness or of human decency that leaves no room for poverty, prejudice or violence, unless we build it. Learn more about Habitat for Humanity's work in building what Dr. King called "the Beloved Community."

Our office will be closed Monday, January 17, and our ReStore will be closed Tuesday, January 18, in observance of MLK Jr. Day.
Denton Bible Church's GAP program prepares young men to be faithful stewards of all God has given them, cultivating in them both stamina and grit. For several Saturdays over the course of the building of our 105th home, about 16 young men from Denton Bible Church's GAP program volunteered under the direction of Ken Reedy and our Build Committee, learning all about the aspects of construction, home maintenance, hard work, and doing good for their community. Denton Bible Church is also a sponsor of our 105th home. We are so grateful for their support and partnership in these ways!
Honoring Habitat Construction Manager, Ken Reedy
As you may know, Ken Reedy's last day with us was December 30, 2021. He had been the Construction Manager at Habitat for Humanity of Denton County since January 2021 and an active volunteer since 2017 - we are hopeful that at some point he may be able to volunteer again. We have been fortunate to have his skills, generosity, and servant heart as part of our team for so long. In order to honor his service, many of you joined us for his farewell reception on the evening of Thursday, December 30. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate and support Ken!
