Dear Hart Families,

3 more "wake-ups" until the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!! We are so excited to kick off the '21-'22 school year. Thank you to everyone who attended Meet the Teacher. It was great meeting everyone, and I look forward to learning more about your family. I have tried to keep this message short with only the most crucial information that you need to be set up for success.

On the first day of school only, parents may walk their child into the classroom. To help with parking, we are asking that 3rd and 4th graders be dropped off from 7:25 - 7:40 and Kinder - 2nd grade dropped off from 7:40 - 7:55. Please know that we understand if you can not follow these times, but if you can, we would appreciate your support. After your last picture and "see you later" head to the Leopard's Lair for "Tears and Cheers" sponsored by our PTO.

As a reminder, we do not allow any visitors for the first two weeks of school. This allows us to ensure our students can practice our procedures to ensure a successful school year. Lastly, please know that we have been as proactive as possible to create smooth processes, but we kindly ask for your patience as everything takes a long time at first. We will refine as we go and lines will move more quickly once we all (parents, staff, and students) learn what works best to get us out the door safely and quickly. I hope that you enjoy your weekend.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

School Start & End Times
Our school day begins at 7:55 each day, and we end at 3:10. If students are not in their seats by 7:55, then they are considered tardy. We will give students grace during the first two weeks of school.
Important! If you have used SDM previously, you will need to uninstall the app and reinstall using this link. All parents will download the new SDM app from this link.

Hart Families,

Welcome to School Dismissal Manager! Using School Dismissal Manager with your desktop or smartphone browser, you can quickly and easily update instructions when your child's dismissal needs to be changed. School Dismissal Manager notifies the school of your updates so that, effective August 23rd, it is no longer necessary for you to phone the school, send notes, or send an email to inform the school of dismissal changes. School Dismissal Manager will provide us with a more organized and efficient tracking system for afternoon dismissals.

The easy-to-use mobile and desktop interface will allow you to make these changes in advance or for the current day. At Hart, we want you to utilize School Dismissal Manager to indicate a change in your child's default dismissal plan and to let us know if you are checking your child out early. Free apps are also available for Android and iPhone users.

To login, you will be issued a username and temporary password through an email from School Dismissal Manager. You should receive your email by Monday, August 16th.

Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students. Please contact Janean Mancini (janean_mancini@lovejoyisd.net) if you have any questions or concerns.
Arrival Protocols
The doors will open at 7:30 each morning, and students will report straight to their homeroom classroom. On the first day of school, parents may walk their child into the classroom. To help with parking, we are asking that 3rd and 4th graders be dropped off from 7:30 - 7:40 and Kinder - 2nd grade dropped off from 7:40 - 7:55. Please know that we understand if you can not follow these times, but if you can, we would appreciate your support. Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.
Dismissal Protocols
Students will have the following options to leave school each day.
  • Bus (Signed up and paid for through Power School)
  • Walker
  • Parent Park & Pickup - This is where parents can park their car, and then they can walk to Door 3 to pick up their child. **For Parent Park & Pickup, you will need to get out of your car and line up at Door 3, then a teacher will greet you. You will have to show the teacher your car number in order for your child to be released.
  • Car Pickup - where parents drive through our line and your child is placed into your car.
At Meet the Teacher, you will be allowed to write this information down so the teacher will know how your child will be getting home. Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.
How do I put money on my child's lunch account?
If you would like to put money on your child's account for "extras," please choose one of the following ways.
  • Put money (cash or check) in a sealed envelope with your child's first and last name and homeroom teacher on it. Send it to school with your child, and they can deliver it to the cafeteria.
  • Visit MySchoolBucks by clicking here and put money on your child's account electronically.
Can I bring birthday treats to school for my child?

Yes, you can purchase birthday treats for your child through Student Nutrition. Please note that we are only allowing birthday treats from the LISD Student Nutrition department. Thanks in advance for understanding. Please click here to order your child's birthday treats today! Please email your child's teacher to inform them that you ordered treats so that we do not have 2 students celebrating birthdays on the same day.
Can I bring my child lunch from a restaurant?
Yes! You will just need to place the food on the table with your child's name on it in our front office foyer.
Health & Safety Measures

The 2021-2022 Health and Safety Measures are now live on the district’s website. You may find them in two locations:

What supplies does my child need?
Below, you will find the link for the Hart Elementary School Supplies. If you pre-ordered school supplies they will be in your child's class at Meet the Teacher. If you purchased your school supplies on your own, please feel free to bring them on the first day of school.
Headphones have not been included on supply lists but will be required at each grade level. Please plan to send your child with a set of headphones - your choice! Thank you!
Car Tags
At Meet the Teacher, you received your child's car tag. If you were not able to attend Meet the Teacher, your student will come home with the car tags on the first day of school. If you need additional car tags, please contact Alis Brantl at alis_brantl@lovejoyisd.net. A parent will need this car tag to pick their child up from the Car Pick-up Line and the Park & Pickup Zone.
