The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be observed as a non-instructional day to honour survivors of the residential school system, their families, and communities. It’s a time for students and to reflect on decolonization and consider actions to advance Truth and Reconciliation within the King’s and Western communities.

Academic Advising
Academic Advising helps students plan their programs, resolve academic issues, and develop strategies for success. The Advising Office will not be holding scheduled appointments between September 4 and September 13. To accommodate the maximum number of students requiring advising, we will be holding drop-ins during this period on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Please plan to attend a drop-in session either in person or virtually as outlined below.
The Advising Office will not be open until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 to accommodate staff training. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Write Place
The Write Place at King’s is the go-to resource for students looking to improve their academic and creative writing. Tutors and consultants provide feedback on structure, argument, research, and citations, helping students enhance their writing skills. Meet Ricardo Soto: KUCSC President
- Ricardo Soto, a fifth-year student completing an honours specialization in Politics and International Relations with a certificate in Law and Public Policy. He is passionate about student leadership and involvement. His experience working as a student researcher deepened his commitment to enhancing student opportunities, which sparked his interest in the King’s Students’ Council. As the current KUCSC President, Ricardo serves as the student representative and liaison between the student body and King’s administration, and works to ensure that King’s students are involved, engaged, and empowered.

Parking Payment Changes in Lot P3
Starting October 1, 2024, the payment method in Parking Lot P3 will transition to the HONK system. With HONK, students, staff, faculty, and visitors can easily search, pay, and top up parking from their phone. This change offers a convenient, safe, and contact-free parking experience—no app download required.
To maintain a smooth and secure parking experience for everyone, Western Parking will ensure that all vehicles on campus are properly permitted and parked in designated spaces. This effort helps protect accessible parking areas and enhances overall campus security. More information on the new system and parking guidelines will follow.

Student Zone in Wemple Hall
The Student Zone in Wemple 022, near Thames Market, is now open. It offers study spaces for individual and group work, computer stations with printing, and day-use lockers. Bring your own lock. The space also includes a Quiet Room for rest and a designated area for breastfeeding/pumping (key available at ACSD), as well as “Christina’s Closet,” a resource acquired from Brescia offering free, gently used clothing.

Join us for Sunday Eucharist
Masses are offered on Sundays at 10 a.m. and at 5 p.m. (beginning September 8, 2024) in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount (WOTM). Evening Mass will be on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at WOTM. Noon Mass at King's on Thursdays and Fridays will resume on September 12, 2024.
