Mia and I were first connected when I joined the San Fernando Valley local group of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and became involved in local activism. In October 2019, I stepped up as the local group’s Events Co-Lead, and we were able to organize several successful events before the COVID-19 shutdown changed all of our lives. Over the last several years I, like so many of you, have felt overwhelmed by the never-ending cycle of bad news. But coming on to Mia’s campaign gives me hope for the future. Mia is the representative of our community that we need - someone who will fight for our right to affordable, quality healthcare; take action on the climate crisis we see affecting our state; ensure high-quality public education for all; ending the cycles of poverty and homelessness; and work to end the crisis of gun violence.
I look forward to getting to know you throughout the course of the campaign. If you have any questions, suggestions, or just generally want to reach out please email me at nikki@miaforassembly.com.
