The Cleveland, OH-based startup has begun production on the District electric cycle with four operating modes from e-bike to e-motorcycle based around a platform called CORE that can provide small-scale, home-backup power.

Emerging from stealth last week with seed funding led by Fine Structure Ventures, the startup is engineering a spaceplane that can fly to space, perform a mission, return, refuel, and fly again almost immediately.

The $7 billion investment in Michigan will make Orion Assembly the second U.S. plant building the electric Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra and build the third U.S. Ultium Cells battery manufacturing plant—for more than 1 million in EV unit capacity in North America by the end of 2025.

It closed a $27 million Series A funding round to scale up the development of next-generation battery architectures with its chemistry-agnostic technology to help its customers deliver higher performing, lower-cost batteries at scale.

The new joint development agreement is focused on automated driving systems, with the first Level 2 hands-free system for urban and freeway driving launching in 2023.
