Broomfield Days 2022, Sept. 16-18
Mark your calendars, Broomfield's favorite event of the year is right around the corner! This activity-packed weekend is something you and your family will not want to miss. Sept. 16-18 will be three days of non-stop fun and community spirit. Broomfield Days starts Friday with the annual golf tournament and bingo. Saturday things ramp up with the Broomfield Days parade, the 5k, the clown contest and more! Stop by Midway Park to join the fun.
Community Forum for City and County Clerk Candidates
Come meet the candidates for Broomfield’s next City and County Clerk. Join the City and County of Broomfield on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. in Council Chambers at the George DiCiero County Building for an opportunity to listen and get to know each finalist. For those unable to attend in-person, you are welcome to watch online at Broomfield.org/Live.
2023 Non-Profit Grant Application
Calling all non-profits serving Broomfield! Apply for the 2023 Non-Profit Grants Program hosted by The City and County of Broomfield Department of Human Services (in collaboration with the Broomfield Community Foundation) to receive grant funding available to local non-profit agencies. Awards vary depending on need and are contingent on available funding. Apply if your non-profit mission is related to human services needs. The pre-qualification form opens Aug. 15 and is due Aug. 19. Applications open Aug. 24.
COVID-19: Broomfield is in Level Low
Congratulations, Broomfield! Broomfield has moved to level “low” on the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels. This change indicates that the risk of COVID-19 infection is decreasing in Broomfield, and residents should stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and get tested if you have symptoms.
West Nile Virus
There have been two confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in Broomfield residents with the virus being detected in several surrounding counties recently. Most people who become infected with the virus do not develop symptoms or have mild ones and recover on their own. Broomfield Public Health and Environment officials remind you to take precautions as West Nile Virus season continues to run through October. 🛑 Pedestrian Crossings: As kids return to school and more people are on roads, stay safe! Drivers should drive the speed limit and be aware of your surroundings, particularly when approaching a crosswalk. Additionally, pedestrians and bicyclists should always use crosswalk areas and use caution when crossing major streets.
🎣 2022 Fishing Derby: Enjoy a day on the lake for the sponsored and free Kids; Fishing Derby for ages 6 to 12. After a brief fishing clinic, kids will be provided with a pole and bait with fishing poles and any fish caught able to be brought home. Join the event on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 8-11 a.m. Registration is required.

😷 Facts About Monkeypox: Unlike COVID-19, monkeypox primarily spreads through person to person from direct contact with the infectious rash, scabs or body fluids. While the risk of monkeypox spreading is low, more cases have been detected in the metro area. Learn more and find resources.

⚕️ Children's Colorado Community Health Survey: Improve the health and well-being of children and youth in the area by participating in the Children’s Colorado health survey. Anyone with children in the home ages 0-25 in Broomfield can complete the survey used to collect information to better understand concerns, challenges and needs to improve in the area.

🚗 Midway Multimodal Action Plan: Provide your comments on the Midway Boulevard Draft Concept Plans as part of the final round of public engagement for the Midway Multimodal Action Plan. Public engagement will be open until mid-September.

👨‍🦽 120th Ave Multimodal Study: Take a resident or business owner survey to help CDOT and the City and County of Broomfield identify gaps in accessible multimodal travel along the US 287/120th Avenue corridor.
