Dear Good Shepherd Community,
One year ago, our School Board of Trustees appointed Mrs. Heather Vaughn as our Acting Head of School for the current academic year. Since that time, our Transition Committee has been overseeing the process of discerning the future needs of our school as well as the process of selecting our next permanent Head of School. The selection process was conducted in consultation with the leadership of FCIS and Southern Teachers, a consulting firm that specializes in Head of School search processes. Our Board of Trustees felt it was essential that we conduct a thorough and comprehensive search process in order to ensure the future success of our school.
We are pleased to announce that our Board of Trustees has unanimously approved the appointment of Heather Vaughn as our permanent Head of School. Heather has been a strong and effective leader over the course of her many years with our school, and she has done an exceptional job in navigating our school through the challenges related to the ongoing pandemic. Heather will officially assume the role of permanent Head of School at the start of the next academic year in July 2022. In the meantime, the Board of Trustees and the leadership of Good Shepherd Church look forward to working with Heather as we build a bright future for our school community.
