From the Pastor
It was good to see the worship attendance starting back up again. Have you noticed how many guests we have had lately? Remember the old cliché: You only have one chance to make a good first impression! Please, please take time to engage our guests. Who are guests? If you don’t know them, consider them to be a guest! Introduce yourself and ask their name. Be genuine in letting them know how glad you are that they are worshipping with us. If you speak to them before the service, try to speak to them again after the service and invite them to come back. If you walk out with them, introduce them to me on the church porch following the service. Let’s introduce our guests to the genuine love we have for one another, in hopes that they will become a part of our spiritual family at RPBC!

Bro. Brad announced Sunday that the Family Fall Festival Committee decided to not hold our FFF again this year. In lieu of that, we will hold a church-wide Fall Festival in November. Be on the lookout for more information!

Thank you for your response to my message series of “Journey to the Center of Your World: Developing a God-Centered Worldview.”  Through this series we are considering how to develop and maintain the right mindset that enables us to live a victorious Christian life. It has blessed my heart to have students stop me and tell me that they have been writing notes furiously, trying to keep up! Having a right mindset requires knowledge and action: letting the Word of God shape your mind and move your heart. This Sunday we will consider what makes Christianity unique among the world’s religions.

It was exciting to see a good Sunday School attendance yesterday. Since September, we have had the highest attendance totals we have had in almost 2 years. But, I won’t be satisfied until every room has a class, and every class is filled! And, I hope you won’t either! According to PositivePsychology.com, actions that are repeated over time gradually become habits. Research published in the European Journal of Psychology concludes that half of the population needs up to 66 days of repetitive behavior for a habit to be formed. The other half of the population needs more than 66 days to form a habit. Now, I don’t know how that data translates to an action that has a weekly occurrence (i.e., Sunday School) versus a daily one. But, it tells me that in order for Sunday School to become a regular habit, you must discipline yourself to attend consistently until it becomes a way of life for you. I guess it just takes the right mindset; having a God-centered worldview!

Praying for You Daily,
Dan
