The RVCC Foundation has announced the inaugural recipients of its three newest scholarships supporting students at Raritan Valley Community College: the Emerging Heroes Nursing Scholarship, the Evelyn S. Field Scholarship, and the Paul Robeson Scholarship.

For the seventh year in a row, RVCC has been nationally recognized for its sustainability efforts by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. RVCC has earned a STARS Silver rating for its sustainability achievements and is included in the 2021 Sustainable Campus Index. RVCC now ranks as #6 overall for two-year colleges in the US and Canada for its sustainability efforts.

The RVCC Women’s Volleyball team had a stellar season, finishing with a rank of #9 in the country in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX. The 9th-place finish is the highest ranking in the program's history. The Lions secured their place in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament after winning both the Region XIX Championship and the North Atlantic District A Championship.

RVCC joined the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development in celebrating the 7th Annual National Apprenticeship Week, November 15-21. The events included showcasing the College’s Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, HVAC, and Healthcare apprentice programs with presentations from industry stakeholders and apprentice alumni.

RVCC has won the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge's 2020 Best Action Plan Award for the New Jersey Campus Voting Challenge – Community College. The College also was honored in the New Jersey Campus Voting Challenge for the Highest Voter Registration for two-year colleges and the Highest Voter Turnout & the Most Improved Voter Turnout for two-year colleges. The voting participation was based on the 2020 election.

Members of the Society of Women Engineers Collegiate Affiliate at RVCC presented their Energy Generating Windmill project last month at a “Make a Difference” event, sponsored by the College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

The RVCC Children’s Campus, through the Department of Education’s “Child Care Access Means Parents in School” (CCAMPIS) grant, provides funds to pay students in Early Childhood Education and related fields to work in the College’s early childhood center.

Students who work as Assistant Teachers gain a number of new skills as they interact with young children, from infants to Pre-K, and learn from experienced early childhood educators.
