Dear Colleagues:
Welcome to our traditional SED Newsletter for September 2021. It is hard to believe that we are coming up on the end of our tenth year as a Newsletter, more about that with our next Issue. Our next issue will also preview the November Interim Meeting.
This September issue continues our traditional salute to our SED members serving on AMA Boards, Committees and Commissions. Some members provide us personal glimpses and for the others we provide their AMA bios. They all serve with distinction and deserve our thanks, our applause and our support.
We continue our articles in the “Beyond the Stethoscope” series. This time, to fit our theme of service to AMA and our patients, an article about science and end of life care and death, bouncing off the ancient Hebrew book of Job. By the way we still want submissions for this series from All of You!
As I am sure you know by now, the Interim Meeting will be entirely virtual. We will miss breaking bread with our SED family.
To those of you confronting near capacity hospitals and or ICUs or recovering from floods and/or hurricanes please know that the thoughts and prayers of the entire SED are with you.
