St. Peter Weekly News!

Principal's Message:

Dear St. Peter Family,

May is here, and we are heading into the home stretch of our school year! May is packed full of tests and learning, field trips, special occasions, special events, fun activities, and memories! So much is happening week by week, so please be sure to read the Weekly News carefully for events and updates. Along with all the end of year excitement, we have some very special people we are praying for at school. Father Kyle has been in our prayers every day, as he had surgery on his foot on Monday. We are happy to share that he is doing great! We can't wait to see him scooting around the school soon. We also have Mrs. Russell, our 8th grade teacher, in our prayers. She is expecting a baby any day now, and we cannot wait to hear if she has a girl or boy! Mrs. Schenck, our 4th grade teacher, is also expecting very soon, so we are praying for her and her family. Many of our second graders received their First Communion last weekend, and more are receiving the sacrament this weekend. Our eighth graders are preparing for both Confirmation and Graduation. As you can see, there is so much for us to look forward to and be thankful for. Please join us in praying for all of our special intentions! Two big reminders for next week...next Wednesday, our students will need to bring a flower to school for May Crowning, and Friday there is no school. Mrs. Moorman and I will do our best to send reminders for ALL the great things happening in May. Have a great weekend, and thank you for all your help and support!

St. Peter, Friend of Jesus,

PRAY FOR US!

Friday, May 12th...Wear Purple!

April is the Month of the Military Child, and purple is the color! Although we ran short of time in April, we didn't want this special month to pass by unnoticed, especially with so many of our students and families involved with our Military. On May 12th, students may be out of uniform if they wear purple for a $1donation. All proceeds will be sent to the USO at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This great cause fundraiser was put together by first grader, Rilyn Paget, whose father is retired from the Air Force but still serves as a Reservist and works on base. We love our Service Men and Women!

Faith Moment

May Crowning

This Wednesday, May 3rd at our 9:00AM Mass, we will be holding our annual May Crowning. Students are asked to bring in a flower for the Blessed Mother. Flowers can be purchased from the store or picked from the garden...either one will add to our beautiful bouquets for Mary! As always, our 8th Graders will have the honor of crowning Mary for us. Please join us for a beautiful Mass!

Students are welcome to bring their Rosaries to school next week, as we will be praying a decade of the Rosary each day in the month of May.

Flower Sale Pick-Up!

Friday, May 5th is the pick-up day for flowers ordered through our spring fundraiser. Below are links to volunteer to help and to schedule your pick-up time. We are in need of a lot of help, so please consider joining us! The volunteer slots are 3-hour increments, but we can still use help even if you can't stay for three hours. We are thinking positive thoughts about sunny weather for this day!

Fight the Summer Slide!

Once again, we will be selling Summer Skills workbooks for all grades, K-8. Workbooks are available for Language Arts and Math and provide a review of this year's learning standards. There is also an Algebra I review for 8th graders interested in keeping their skills fresh for high school. Books are $18 each. Order forms will be sent home Monday and are due no later than Monday, May 8th, so books can be delivered before the last day. Click here to access the order form.

Father Kyle popped out to say hello to our second graders as they waited for the "all clear" for our evacuation drill Thursday. We can't wait until he's back!

Nothing better than lunch time with Father Hale!
