JAMES LAPINE
PLAYWRIGHT
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
Our latest installment of Luminaries of Stage & Screen features the esteemed playwright and director James Lapine, who discusses his new book Putting It Together: How Stephen Sondheim and I Created Sunday in the Park with George. Published last month, the book garnered rave reviews and quickly became a New York Times bestseller: demand has been so great that it’s currently out of stock at Amazon. Lapine and Sondheim received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Sunday in the Park, and also collaborated on Into the Woods and Passion. The pre-recorded interview was conducted by Sheryl Flatow, our writer and editor, who has also hosted many Dramalogue programs for us and has interviewed Lapine extensively over the years.
