3 Week Charlotte Street Outlook

Week of April 17

Working: Estes to Greeley

The Greeley and Estes intersections will be open after the tie in to the water main on Estes. Crews will be testing the new main which includes pressure testing, flushing, bacterial testing, and chlorine residual. While the water line is being tested (about 3-4 days), the contractor will install reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) for the storm drain and complete the storm drain in this section between Estes and Greeley. This will help to ensure the gas services and the residential water services are not in conflict with the storm pipe.

Pending results of the water main tests, lateral tie ins will start on Friday at Estes, Greeley, and Freemont with the new main and the existing laterals to loop the system.

Xcel anticipated to relocate 3 light poles in the ROW during the week of the 24th. These were actually moved last week.

Week of April 24

Working: Estes to Greeley

Tentatively, the Greeley intersection will be closed starting this week to tie into the existing water main on Greeley.

If storm drainage isn't completed, it will be done this week.

Construction will continue on Charlotte from Estes to Greeley. Beginning this week, crews will start connecting water services to homes and residences. Affected property owners will be notified 48 hours prior to the service being connected.

Xcel will also be working on installing the new gas main for this section of the roadway.

Week of May 1

Working: Estes to Greeley

Construction will continue on Charlotte from Estes to Greeley.

If not yet completed, all water work should be completed this week.

Xcel will also be working on installing the new gas main services for the residential homes assuming completion of the gas main last week.

Once Xcel has completed gas installation, crews will begin grading the roadway and prepping curb and gutter. Installation of curb and gutter will also be completed. (Tentatively, paving is scheduled for the week of May 8).

Gas installation will continue from Estes to Columbine during this time. It is anticipated the gas company will complete their scope of work before departing the site completely.

During construction in this segment, the contractor will be moving trash cans to a location for the solid waste trucks to pick up all of the trash and recycling for the residents and then moving the cans back to their home locations. Access is accommodated through the alleyways behind the homes.

Crews will be working on Saturdays from 8 am - 4 pm to help with catch up from the snow days and delays that have occurred.
