Dear Residents -
20 years later, Orangetown still remembers!
Visions Yet Held ~ 2021 in Remembrance, 9/11
Two decades have now gone by
Since horror besieged that September 11th sky
Tears, heartache, shock, beyond all conceal
The loss, the lament, the longing, known real
Time alone does not ease the grief and pain
For the inward scars of loss long long remain
Tales of responders, heroic be each deed
Humanity and care, held as a loving creed
And to those lost to the ravages of toxins over time
Pray we their keeping by God’s light divine
Times shared, times of frivolity and cheer, we embrace
A trove of memories of our loved ones held within heart’s place
A smile brought to heart when we hold a vision clear
Of what was the dream our loved ones held dear
We can with a loving faith, and in the NOW
Imagine the fulfilling of our lost one’s vow
The sounding call of a name be heard
Bring forth the dreams in blessed word
What vision, what promise made, hankered in their soul
Let us in loving PRAISE, honor the vision, the goal
Gather we in soulful prayer and an abiding love
PEACE to the loving souls that dwell the heavens above.
Thank YOU.
