It's a Lovely Day to Take to the Streets ...
From 350MA Berkshire Node

Stop the Dirty Banks!

Join us for a National Day of Action
When: Today! March 21
4:30 to 6:00 pm
Where: Park Square, Pittsfield

Together we demand banks
stop funding climate chaos.

Over the past year, thousands of you have taken the Banking on Our Future pledge to close your accounts, cut up your credit cards, and boycott Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo if they don’t move their investments out of fossil fuels. On 3.21.23, we gather to show the strength of our movement!

The Pittsfield standout is sponsored by 350MABerkshires and will be held at Park Square from 4:30 to 6. The four targeted banks are Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase and Citibank. Since none of these banks have a presence in Pittsfield, we're also targeting TD Bank, which has lent 21B for fossil fuel infrastructure in 2021 alone. Bring a sign (or not) but please join us. (No sticks allowed on signs in Pittsfield!)

You're not required to sign up, but click here to let organizers know how many people to expect,

We call on Governor Healey to declare No Future for Gas!

From Mass Power Forward

Our new Governor, Maura Healey, has made climate one of her main goals. That's why we are asking her to declare, by Earth Day, that there is no future for gas in Massachusetts. We urge Governor Healey to halt new gas system expansions until the state has a concrete plan for a just transition to a clean — and green — energy future.

We envision a just and rapid transition for all to be able to get away from gas to a future of clean heat powered by clean electricity. This is urgent for our planet and for communities currently facing expansion projects like Springfield and Longmeadow.

To get the Governor's attention, we need 10k petition signatures, so share widely!
Greylock Glen Ecovillage
Public Forum

Greylock Glen is a 1,060 acre parcel of land in Adams, Massachusetts at the eastern base of Mount Greylock, Massachusetts tallest mountain. The Glen is a beautiful location that has been proposed as the site for various development schemes.

Concerns over the new proposal include:
– impacts of over-development of this DCR-owned natural resource
– impacts to well established trails that would now be
intersected by this development
– impacts of full utilities running to the site including town water
& sewer and gas lines
– economic impacts to the Environmental Justice community in which
the Glen is located – given the reduction in number of affordable
camping sites and over-development of high-end rental properties
