FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

There are few topics more "critical" today than the issue of fatherless homes (although for more on "critical theories", see "What We're Reading" below). Praxis Circle Contributor and Board member Mary Eberstadt's recent column for The Spectator magazine "Critical Father Theory" provides a clear and concise explanation of the problem and its effects on our society.
Our post "The Fury of the Fatherless - Part III of V" (December 17, 2020) also features Mary's answer to the question, "What happens if fathers are removed?" The post is one of our 5-part series on the role of men in our society. As Mary notes in her Spectator column on fatherlessness and as our series highlights, issues with men's roles have been simmering for decades now - to
the detriment of our society as a whole.
Dads matter from Day One!
It's our opinion that these issues will continue to wreak havoc on American families, the building blocks of any society, unless and until they are confronted.
It's critical.

A quick laugh for our members who are planning
an August car trip!

What We're Reading:

How Activist Scholarship Made Everything
about Race, Gender, and Identity
-and Why This Harms Everybody

Helen Pluckrose
and James Lindsay, authors

Here at Praxis Circle we've been reading Cynical Theories, a great primer on critical theories of several types, from gender to race. Currently the hottest of hot-button topics, these theories have their roots in post-modernism and academia. We recommend this book enthusiastically given the national conversation on these theories and the lack of general knowledge of them.

We at Praxis Circle have been spending our summer preparing more valuable content for you!

During the month of August we'll be publishing a series of seven blog posts entitled "Road to Reason." If you'd like a clearer, deeper understanding of your own worldview, watch for them.

Looking further down the road, we will be presenting the first series of the Praxis Circle podcasts. Watch this space!
Although August is typically vacation-time, it's also a good time to stimulate your thinking. Here's our recommendation for just that:
