Spirit Week
Thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers who made our Spirit Week a success! We raised over $40,000 from the week's events which started with Golden Smiles at Triangle Beer in Cary; continued with fun Facebook activities with a few of our special vet partners; a silent auction with many wonderful items; and concluded with the 20th Annual Golden on the Green Charity Golf Tournament at River Ridge Golf Club.

Golden Smiles Brewery Event
On August 22nd NRGRR hosted its first ever Golden Smiles event at Triangle Beer in Cary. What a fun, but hot, afternoon gathering with friends. There was a raffle and a Kissing Booth which was sponsored by North Carolina Implants and Periodontics. From 2-4 the Kissing Booth featured kisses by Keeghan and from 4-6 Smooches with Sam!
Despite a short “intermission” due to rain, the event was enjoyed by all. Thank you to Samantha Flynn and Kerry Ahrend who coordinated this event and to our host, Triangle Beer for providing a great location and for their generous donation to NRGRR.
We thank all of our sponsors and in-kind donors who helped make this event a success. Look for more brewery events in the future and some Yappy Hours as well.

20th Annual Golden on the Green
Charity Golf Tournament
August 28th NRGRR celebrated 20 years of the Golden on the Green charity golf tournament. This has always been one of NRGRR’s largest and most successful events. And 2021 did not disappoint! At 1:30 sharp, 107 golfers hit the links to swing, chip, and putt and help NRGRR raise money for our mission to Rescue, Rehab, and Adopt Goldens and golden-hearted dogs in need.
Thank you to the core committee of Kerry Ahrend, Jennifer Edwards VanKirk, Nell Barnes, Donna Blackwell, Scott Kennedy, Roger Stow, and Kelly White who pulled together this year’s golf tournament in a record six weeks. That is largely in part because of the leadership of Jennifer who started the tournament in 2001. Jennifer was honored during the awards ceremony for her many years of leadership and vision.
Also this year, Golden on the Green got their first ever $5000 sponsorship from Precision Air Technology. The teams from Precision Air had such a great time at this year’s tournament that they have already expressed their interest and intentions of sponsoring the tournament next year and in the future. NRGRR is so excited and honored to have their ongoing support!

We would like to thank all or our sponsors, in-kind donors, golfers, and volunteers for your support, and we hope to see you again next year for the 21st Annual Golden on the Green. Next year’s tournament will be held at River Ridge Golf Course on August 27th so mark your calendars now!

We are always looking for new ideas for store items. If there are any items you would like us to carry, email our store manager, Nikki D'Ambrose, and we will see if it's feasible for us to provide it to you.
