Hundreds of MoVal Residents Celebrate Freedom During Juneteenth
The Civic Center Amphitheater came alive on June 18 during Moreno Valley's first-ever Juneteenth celebration!

Hundreds of Moreno Valley residents celebrated culture, unity, and the power of community at the City's inaugural Juneteenth event. The event was full of exciting performances, including dancers from J3K Dance Company and Aurora Monroe School of Dance and music from the BIG Band. Speakers included B. Hunter of Power Speaks Louder and Diana Anderson, who recited a rousing poem about the significance of Juneteenth.

Fireworks are the Top Non-Emergency Priority for Moreno Valley Police
Did you know illegal fireworks are the number one non-emergency priority for Moreno Valley Police?

Last year, police officers gave out 102 citations for possessing illegal fireworks, totaling nearly $180,000 in fines. Officers are patrolling on the ground and in the air looking for illegal fireworks. Those caught with illegal fireworks can face fines of up to $3,500.

This Fourth of July, leave fireworks to the professionals. Fireworks, they're just not worth it!

Moreno Valley's Fourth of July Parade & FunFest is right around the corner!

Join us at 9:30 am to watch our Fourth of July parade down Frederick Street, featuring all your favorite community members, local businesses, and more.

Don't forget to stop by our signature FunFest at the Civic Center Amphitheater, one of the best Fourth of July events in the Inland Empire! The FunFest will run from 2 pm to 9:30 pm and feature live bands, delicious food vendors, a beer garden, a youth fun zone, and one of the most exciting fireworks shows in the region! Pre-event tickets are on sale now until July 1.

Getting to Know the Community Development Department
Moreno Valley's Community Development Department (CDD) ensures our City continues to run smoothly. 

The Community Development Department oversees the divisions that build our future and keep us safe, including Planning, Community Enhancement, Building & Safety, and the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. 

The Planning Division is home to the award-winning SimpliCITY program, a revolutionary service that allows you to submit planning documents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the comfort of your home. The Animal Shelter hosts many helpful initiatives, including a robust Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program, low-cost vaccinations, and an easily accessible pet adoption program. 

The City's Community Enhancement Division has made it easier than ever to report code violations online using our accessible code violation form. And our Building & Safety team issues permits and inspects buildings to ensure Moreno Valley continues to be a safe place to live and work.
