Montrell Staton, a success coach at Edgecombe Community College, left a troubled youth behind and pursued higher education to create a better life for him and his family. He completed a master’s degree in May and serves as a shining example to the students he advises at ECC.

Sixteen officers completed the recent Basic Detention Officer Academy at ECC. DeVere Beard of the Hertford County Sheriff's Office served as class president, leading a cohort of graduates who represent various sheriff’s offices and detention facilities across the region. The college congratulates all graduates for their achievements and looks forward to their contributions in enhancing the safety and security of their respective communities.
