Advocate of the Month September 2021
Congratulations Jill Draven
CSVANW Advocate of the Month for September 2021
Jill Draven, Navajo and Mississippi Band of Choctaw resides in New Mexico, originally from Arizona. Jill has been the Victim Advocate/Prevention Educator for Sexual Assault Services of Northwest New Mexico – Gallup for 3 years. Before, SASNWNM Jill has worked at Battered Families Services a Domestic Violence Agency as a DART Coordinator in Gallup New Mexico for 3 years as well.
Jill has been committed to raising awareness on Sexual Assault and providing educational opportunities to the students in McKinley County and surrounding Navajo Nation, which she truly enjoys, being around students; “you go in with a plan, you go in knowing you might have those tough conversations, you go in prepared for anything, you share all that you can, it can be fun and it can also be hard, but at the end of the day I feel that I always leave with something new and something learned, at times I feel like they teach me. Kids are such a blessing”
Jill enjoys her job and is truly passionate about helping others. Growing up Jill never thought she would be assisting victim-survivors in a victim advocate capacity. “helping those who need you at that moment makes a huge difference in a survivor’s life, so when you can be that person whether it's providing that support during a SANE EXAM, support during a LE interview/court or even providing assistance in the form of applications or clothing; take that opportunity because to them it’s everything, I believe we all can relate to that at one point in our lives when we needed help in whatever capacity it was, receiving that help made a huge difference.”
Jill absolutely enjoys coming to work, “I got the most amazing co-workers, whom are equally as passionate and supportive, working as a team we make great things happen.”
Jill could not do this job without the support of her family. “They have been such a huge support system since day 1, they are absolutely the best, never-ending love”
I am truly honored and humbled to be recognized as the CSVANW Advocate of the month. Thank you to CSVANW for this opportunity. I will continue to advocate.

Thank you for all that you do for the Gallup Community, your clients, and for CSVANW. I have the honor of working with an amazing and strong advocate. We want to honor you in a huge way that lifts your spirits to continue to do this important work.

Congratulations Jill on being selected as the CSVANW September Advocate of the Month!
