A Young Entrepreneur

We love to hear stories of people who never give up! This is the story of Ashley Hughes, a 30 year old young lady who makes and sells jewelry to people all over the world. What makes her story unique, you ask? Well Ashley is a quadriplegic." She has been using her head pointer - a long wooden stick attached to a band around her head - to perform daily tasks that most people use their hands for and has been making the bracelets with it for the past five years.
After deciding to put one up for sale on an e-commerce site, someone sent her a message that same day expressing interest in buying it.
Ashley realized her talent could add meaning to peoples' lives and since then she's learned to make bracelets in as little as 20 minutes for her business BDelight Jewelry".

Celebrating Ten Years In The Community!
We are ten years old! And that's a reason to celebrate!
ten_striped_candles.jpg

Ten years ago it took just a couple of ladies with an experience, compassion, passion and commitment to start this organization.....Here are some more great stories about the people we have been able to help. We couldn't do this without your support.

Thank you!

Introducing You to Our Clients
Meet Jessica....

Jessica, age 25, sustained a C4 spinal cord injury in a car accident. Her mother, Linda, needed to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport Jessica and NAF was honored to provide some funding towards that vehicle. We also provided some threshold ramps for her home to make it easier to get in and out.

Meet Alexis....

Alexis, age 24, has been diagnosed with paraplegia due to a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. His family needed assistance making his home wheelchair accessible. NAF was happy to put in an entrance ramp and widen the doorway to his bathroom. With those modifications, Alexis is able to access everything necessary in his home.

Meet Robert...

Robert, age 39, was a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle. He is living with tetraplegia and needed a power chair to use until his permanent power chair is delivered to him. NAF keeps power chairs in inventory for exactly this purpose and Robert is now using one of our loaners.
Meet Kevin...

Kevin, age 33, fell from a 15-foot tall tree and sustained a T7 spinal cord injury. Kevin's home needed a very large ramp on his home's entry as well as his bathroom doorway widened.

Meet Jay...

Jay, age 58, has a benign tumor compressing his spinal cord causing paraplegia. He has had surgery and rehab and is making good progress but needed some ankle and foot orthotics as well as some medical equipment for his home. NAF was able to step in to provide Jay with these necessities.
We Need Your Help

Donate ~ Sponsor ~ Volunteer

Your $25 donation will help provide clean catheters to a paralyzed child for one month when their insurance won't cover the expense.

Your $100 donation will help build a wheelchair ramp so we can get our clients out of rehab and through their front door at home.

Your $200 donation will help widen the doorways in their homes so their wheelchair can fit through the bathroom door. Insurance doesn't covers home modifications.

Your $500 donation will help provide life-changing medical equipment: wheelchairs and specialized shower chairs, etc. Most insurance only covers a small part of wheelchairs, if any, and no "bathing aids" are covered.

No donation is too small. Click here for more information.
