This Sunday
Faith in the City: Health and Equity

Join the Revs. Simon Mainwaring and Natosha Reid Rice in conversation with Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones, as they explore the theme of ‘Health and Equity’ and the kind of social contract Christians in particular are called to co-create with regards to the wellness of all people.
Sign Up for a Small Group

Registration is now open for two great small group opportunities:

  1. All Saints' Connects Small Groups (spiritual growth-focused)
  2. Neighborhood Connections Groups (social-focused)

We invite you to sign up for one or both!
Dear saints,

Has there ever been a season in your lifetime when you have thought more about our collective health? I’ve never been a big fan of graphs, but of late I cannot help myself from studying the daily virus update in the newspaper. Behind the numbers is a complex human story of what we believe about wellness and our social contract for healthcare in this country. Complexity deserves careful conversation, and I am delighted to be able to invite you this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to join myself and Natosha Reid Rice and Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones as we explore the intersection of health and equity. Dr. Jones is a senior fellow at the Morehouse School of Medicine, and last year was a Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard University. Let us all pray for the health of our nation and for all who give so much of themselves for all our wellness.

Peace,
Simon Mainwaring

The Journey
Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m., on Zoom

Things happen on these journeys: lives are changed, new directions are found; and through it all, "the feeling remains that God is on the journey, too” -Teresa of Avila. The Journey is a Bible study exploring the biblical journeys and what they have to say about our own.

Provide a Meal for the Men of Covenant Community

Available dates: February 1, 8, and 15

With Lent only a few weeks away, we invite your help with Monday dinners for Covenant Community. Sharing a meal with the men inside the community is still not possible, but a supportive procedure is in place. Until further notice, dinner can be dropped off at CCI’s front door on Spring Street any time during the day. After dinner, the men would very much like to do a Zoom meeting with the parishioner(s) so that everyone could virtually get together. Your participation will be very much appreciated.

Novel Theology: The King at the Edge of the World by Arthur Phillips

Wednesday, February 24, 7:00-8:00 p.m., on Zoom

In the year 1601, Queen Elizabeth is about to die without an heir. The leading candidate is King James VI of Scotland, but there are rumors that James is not a Protestant and secretly shares his family’s Catholicism. If true, then forty years of religious war will have been for nothing, and a bloodbath will ensue. With time running out, London confronts a seemingly impossible question: What does James truly believe?

Giving
Thank you, All Saints’, for making your 2021 pledges! Your pledges fund a lot of things you might not know about. Here are a few things worth mentioning:
  • We still use flowers for our online services and Alvin Moore delivers the beauty we see on our screens each week.
  • The choir performances online that sound so clear but the singers are all singing from their homes? We pay a skilled professional in Houston to sync them up and prepare them for our livestream.
  • Keeping our property secure is a top priority and a daily expense. Your funds provide parking lot security every day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Visit allsaintsatlanta.org/give to make your pledge today. Thank you!

Year-end statements go in the mail this week. Please look carefully at this statement when you receive it. Does it represent the gifts you gave All Saints’ in 2020? If it does not or if you have questions, please contact Betsey Gibbs at [email protected].
