Worship With Us
Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:55am based on Luke 7:36-50… Jesus is having dinner at someone’s home and conflict ensues. Jesus tells a story about a creditor and two debtors in different circumstances then he comes back to the moment before him at the table. Jesus shines a light on our thoughts and actions around lavish love, fruitful forgiveness and inspirational intentionality.

Kevin and Emma are pleased to lead worship with Rev Dr Ginny Brown Daniel, our Missouri Mid-South Conference Minister for the last few vibrant and faithful years. Ginny is warm, faithful, inclusive, joyful. She brings comfort and challenge.

At the close of worship, after about fifteen minutes of fellowship and refreshments in the Gathering Space, we invite you to our Speaker Series with Ginny in the Heritage Room. She will help us debrief the worship experience and go deeper.

Inspiration
You know, house-elves get a very raw deal! It’s slavery, that’s what it is! That Mr. Crouch made her go up to the top of the stadium, and she was terrified, and he’s got her bewitched so she can’t even run when they start trampling tents! Why doesn’t anyone do something about it? ~Hermione Granger
Humor
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom as the children drew pictures. The teacher would occasionally walk around and see each child’s artwork. As she approached one little girl who was working especially hard, she asked what the drawing was.

The little girl told her: “I’m drawing God!”

“But sweety,” the teacher replied, “no one actually knows what God looks like.”

Automatically, the little girl continued drawing and said: “well, they certainly will in a minute!”

Update from our Facilities Planning Team (AKA Real Estate Team)
Our Facilities Planning Team (AKA Real Estate Team) was appointed by our Church Council many moons ago – Joyce Ruiz, Rich Race, Paul Roesler and Kevin Cameron. They have been tasked with finding the right tenant for our next chapter.

Miriam Academy High School has been here for four years – two years longer than they had first envisioned. We love their mission and we have been wonderful partners these years as their ‘incubator space’. We wish them well as they engage in major renovations of their new space in Olivette.

The negotiations and lease preparation process with Miriam was such that our Church Council knew we needed professional support the next time around.

Our broker is Peter Newton at Hilliker Corporation, the commercial real estate agency based in Brentwood. We started with an agent from their own well established and highly respected company but they had to break off our agreement due to illness of a family member. A link to our listing is posted below.

Early in this search process, we were beginning work on a lease with another school but the Director was in a serious accident and needed to step away. Another potential tenant discerned that the timing was not right for them.

A report from Loopnet shows that our property has been mentioned in over 30,000 inquiries since mid-November and that 46 people have clicked on the link to view details about our property, some of them numerous times.

Peter has received two phone calls so far, both looking to buy property. Maybe one of them would rent if they don’t find what they are looking for elsewhere.

We are moving forward with placing a lease sign out front.

We need your help. Please share the fact that we are looking for a tenant(s) with your family/friends/networks. You never know who might know someone looking for PUCC – great facility, warm people, clear vision… all with good parking and easy access to highways.
You might not realize that our relationship with Miriam started when a church member was listening to a friend (who was on the Miriam Board of Directors) bemoan the fact that they were having trouble finding the right place to launch their high school…

Here is the link to our listing on Hilliker’s website:
