TD PARK PEOPLE GRANT

This grant provides $2000 to groups from across Canada, including Greater Edmonton, to help make community events happen in local green spaces. Successful applicants are expected to host at least three events between April and December 2020 with each event open to all members of the community. One of your three events must take place on June 20 (the first day of summer to celebrate "park day", which takes place country-wide). Eligible groups include volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations, and non-profits that are active in their local parks. The deadline to apply is March 2.

ASKING OUR COMMUNITIES: A JOURNEY TO UNDERSTAND PARTICIPATION AND INVOLVEMENT

Last year, the Vancouver Foundation received responses from almost 8,000 people living in British Columbia exploring how residents were contributing to community life. Building on this information, there is momentum to understand how this research can better inform how to engage residents in communities across BC. In 2019, the Vancouver Foundation's Vital Signs report unpacked who is participating in community life, who isn't, and what may be holding people back from doing more. This webinar will discuss the findings regarding how citizens feel about participating in community life.

The Alberta Board Member Essentials Program (ABME) was built by Albertans for Albertans, and is designed to support the growth of new and developing board members. For new board members, ABME helps build the foundational layer of learning in order to be an effective board member. For developing board members, ABME supports your growth in understanding nonprofits - not just from the lens of your organization, but also how you and your organization play a role in the larger social sector ecosystem. The full program is five weeks and consists of three online courses and two half-day in-person sessions. The deadline to register is March 4.
