A Message from Councilmember Malnar

July 24, 2020

Dear Sahuaro District Residents,

Yesterday the Governor held a news conference regarding actions the state is taking regarding COVID-19. With the decrease in cases over the last two weeks, the Governor is optimistic but has required current restrictions to remain in place until further notice.

For additional information, here is the link to the news conference:  azgovernor.gov/video .
By August 7th, the Arizona Department of Health Services will develop and release public health benchmarks for the safe return of in-person, teacher-led classroom instruction. Regardless of when regular in-person classroom learning begins, each school district
and charter school needs to begin teacher-led distance learning by the first day of their traditional instructional calendar.

For specifics on the back to school "Open for Learning Plan" visit:
Sincerely,

Ray Malnar
Vice Mayor
