Craig Finn has shared the second episode of his popular new podcast, That’s How I Remember It. Co-produced and distributed by Talkhouse, That’s How I Remember It with Craig Finn Ep. 2 sees Finn joined for an insightful conversation by Emmy Award-winning writer/producer/director Brian Koppelman. That’s How I Remember It with Craig Finn is available at Spotify, iTunes, and all leading podcast providers.
“Alongside his partner David Levien, Brian has created the television shows Billions and Super Pumped,” says Finn, “as well as written movies like Rounders, Ocean’s Thirteen, Solitary Man, and more. We talked about his great memory for dialogue, the films that made him feel like he could be a writer, the way the language in poker rooms inspired his writing, how misheard lyrics can persevere, albums we both listened to on the day they came out, his take on legacy, and much, much more. A huge thanks to Brian for joining me and being so great at this.”

PRAISE FOR A LEGACY OF RENTALS:
“The writing remains the main attraction in Finn’s work, and both as a storyteller and a rock songwriter,
he has never sounded more in control. From the beginning,
he had a gift for meticulous, vivid world-building, and his wordplay
has gotten tighter as his subjects have come down to earth.”
– PITCHFORK (8.0)
“A LEGACY OF RENTALS, Finn’s fifth LP outside The Hold Steady, is a collection of songs centered around memory as his characters recall people who are no longer there and bygone exploits. Finn’s characters in the past haven’t always been the most reliable of narrators. This time, they’re doing their best, even as time and distance distort the accuracy of what they’re able to recall…These songs are about people reckoning with their pasts and, in their own ways, memorializing the people they have lost – even when it’s simply the person they used to be.”
