OUR PARISH MISSION
Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.
We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING
God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:
you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

The Bible Project
Throughout the fall, we will use the Bible Project to lead us as we dig deeper into God’s Word. Each week, we will read a book of the New Testament. Click here for the readings and links.
There are four ways to engage in this study:
1.    Disciple track – read highlights of the Bible book over the course of the week.
2.    Scholar track – read the entire Bible book over the course of the week.
3.    Bible Project Videos – watch a short background and overview video on the Bible book covered that week.
Reflection – We will have a weekly social media post with the links and a reflection question as a way to engage with Scripture at home or with others. We would love to hear your thoughts and responses in the comments.

Words of Encouragement
Wednesday nights ~ 7:00 PM ~ via Zoom
**Please note time change!**
At times, we all need encouragement, but even more we need to be able to encourage those around us. This class will look at encouraging words from the Bible that will warm your heart, but also equip you to share these words with others when they are downhearted. This will start as an online class via Zoom and later transition to a hybrid class.

Bridging the Gap
Our neighbors without homes are in great need of bug spray, new or used summer clothes (especially men’s), toiletries including bars of soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razors, hand sanitizer, wash cloths, socks, and hand cream. Donations can be left in the boxes labeled 'Bridging the Gap' in the back hallway of the church offices. Please click here for more information on how to help.

Circle of Care Ministry Spotlight:
FOOD MINISTRY
Many of us have times in our lives that we find ourselves needing to provide daily care for a loved one who is ill or just unable to take care of themselves. Or we may be ill ourselves, recovering from surgery, or recently home from the hospital. During these difficult times, one may need a healthy meal cooked and delivered to their home! The Food Ministry within the Circle of Care provides this service to our parishioners in this time of need. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please sign up [ Circle of Care Ministry Signup ] or contact Rev. Katie.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Saturday, October 2 ~ 9:00 AM ~ Front Courtyard
Each year on the weekend closest to St. Francis Day we have the Blessing of Animals. This year it will be on Saturday, October 2 at 9:00 AM in the front courtyard. Any animal you can bring is welcome — along with a donation of canned or packaged pet food for our local animal shelter!
ECW MEET & GREET
Tuesday, October 5 ~ 11:30 AM ~ Parish Hall
Ladies of Christ Church, we are moving forward and planning for ECW to meet on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. It will be a “Meet & Greet” with no program so that we can visit and “catch up” with one another.  We will also have the installation of officers for 2021-2022. Finger foods will be served in order to keep things simple. You may sign up on the signup sheet on the information table in the Parish Office if you are at church, or by emailing or calling Kelly Heindl, 432-5115, so you will be “counted”! The deadline to let us know you will be there is Wednesday, September 29.
COMING SOON — ECW BAKE SALE!
Ladies, we need your baked goods for our upcoming Bake Sale! Cakes, cookies, breads, muffins, candy, or any other special homemade goodies you create! You may sign up at the October and November ECW meetings where the signup sheet will be available, or contact Allison Mitchell. The Bake Sale will be held on Sundays, December 12 & 19. Let's do some holiday baking!

The Epic Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 3:00 PM in the Parlor. The October book discussion will be The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate. CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
~ Sunday, September 26 ~
8:00 AM – The Nursery is available for children ages infant through 3-years-old.

9:30 AM – At this time, the Sunday School program is paused. Please join us during the 10:30 AM service for Godly Play for younger children and Journey Through the Bible for our older children.

10:30 AM – During the 10:30 AM service, the Nursery is available for children ages infant through 3 years old, located on the first floor of the Christian Education building.

Godly Play is offered for children in Pre-K 4 through 3rd grade. Children learn the stories of our faith while playing, crafting, and exploring. A snack is offered. This past Sunday the children heard the story of "Creation" and this provided an opportunity for a meaningful discussion of how we can take care of God’s creation. We focused on ways to reuse and recycle. We came up with ways to reuse glass jars, oatmeal boxes, vegetable cans, and even plastic bags. We ended our lesson by committing to doing our best in small ways to make our earth better.  Our new round rugs were a big hit and children filled the circle. This coming week we will have a review and allow more time for exploring the room and art projects. Each week children ask to model with clay so we will have clay and time for them to be potters.

Journey Through the Bible is a new curriculum for our 4th and 5th graders. They will journey through the entire Bible the two years of this class, starting with the New Testament this year.

Parents: Children attending Godly Play and Journey Through the Bible are dropped off in the Parish Hall prior to service and picked up in the Parish Hall after service. If you are running late, enter the marked door on the breezeway and follow the footprints along the halls to the Christian Education Building. Children & Family Ministry activities mirror the in-person services of Christ Church and masks are required for all children, volunteers, and staff over the age of 2.
STAY CONNECTED WITH CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRY!
Children and Family Ministry (CFM) has two new ways to keep our families connected with Christ Church during the week. CFM is on Instagram, @cckidspensacola, and shares what is happening on Sunday mornings and ideas for how to keep faithful conversations happening during the week. CFM also has a bite-sized weekly email with the "5 Things" our families need to know for the week – Sunday reminders, save the dates, and more. Would you like to be added? Email Victoria to be added to the list!
NEW ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CLASS:
"The Return of the Prodigal Son"
Sundays ~ 9:30 AM
Jesus' very short story of the Prodigal Son challenges us to understand the tremendous emotional, physical, and spiritual effects on the younger son as he journeys home. In the third chapter, "The Younger Son's Return", of Henri Nouwen's book, the reader is confronted by the absolute brokenness of this son in both Jesus's story and the painting by Rembrandt. A conversation about the meaning of the story for our lives begins at 9:15 AM in the Christian Education building, Room 31, with Dick Hooper and David Starling facilitating.

ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS
Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. After the Sunday services, the altar flower arrangements are reworked into smaller arrangements. These arrangements are delivered to members of our parish family that are unable to attend a Sunday service. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here and on the information table in the Parish Office.
CARE IN COMMUNITY
Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. We continue to support one another, especially during this pandemic. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected right now, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
