Dear Friend of MCF,

After the roller coaster of recent national events over the past month, we can all use some good news. On that note, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection recently announced that American Bald Eagle populations have soared to a record breaking high. This is something we rejoice in as a win for wildlife! Monmouth County has numerous eagle nests that can be enjoyed from a distance like the one pictured above seen near the nest along the Swimming River in Middletown. After coming back from the brink of extinction, it is inspiring to remember that species can not only recover, but flourish in the face of incredible challenges.

P.S. We are busy working on over 12 active projects in our pipeline. We will soon complete the preservation of 35 acres of open space in Howell to become a new park and protection of 18 farmland acres in Colts Neck. Stay tuned for more good news to come!

Allentown's Newest Park Honors African American History

In celebration of African American History Month, MCF acknowledges one particular member of the Allentown community, Sgt. George Ashby, who became New Jersey’s last surviving Civil War veteran, and the namesake of the newest park in Allentown.
