Class of 2022 Update
Grad Nite
Sign ups for Senior Grad Nite were about 50% lower than expected and we were not able to meet the minimum required for Boomers. We understand that this is disappointing for some, but the Committee has worked very hard to avoid cancellation of Senior Grad Nite and was able to move the venue to The Entertainer luxury yacht located in Marina Del Rey. We hope the seniors who signed up are excited to kick off their graduation celebrations on the cruise with their friends. Any senior who wants to join in the fun can sign up now until May 18 at 3:00 p.m. The cost is the same ($230.00) and registration is required online at https://mobile.univaultz.com. You can pay by check made payable to PVPHS Grad Nite and drop it off in the Student Store or pay through PayPal when you register online.

As for details of the cruise, all seniors who signed up will receive detailed instructions by the end of May to plan for the event. To summarize the highlights, seniors will meet in the gym after graduation and board buses around 9 p.m. Boarding the yacht will take place between 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The seniors will have to pass through security similar to a concert before they board the yacht and security will be on the boat with us. There will be absolutely no drugs or alcohol allowed on the boat. The Entertainer will sail slowly around the calm harbor until midnight. During this time, the kids will be served dinner, can dance to a DJ and play casino games. There is a large rooftop deck with comfortable lounge chairs and sofas for the kids to hang out, take pictures and enjoy the beautiful lights of the harbor. Deck games will be available for the kids' entertainment. The boat will dock by midnight and the party continues until 2 a.m. when the kids will board buses and return back to school for pick up around 3:30 a.m. We will have parent chaperones on the buses and the boat to assist the seniors should any issues arise.

Although we hope that everyone is excited to spend time with their friends at any venue, refund requests will be honored until Monday, May 16 at 3:00 p.m. You can request a refund by emailing [email protected]

Yard Signs
Students who ordered yard signs may pick up their signs out of the Activities Office, P115, this Monday, May 16th during school hours.

Senior Ditch Day this Tuesday, May 17!
Seniors who bought Disneyland tickets and tickets to ride the bus to Disneyland out of the Student Store: meet in front of the school by 8 am on Tuesday to begin boarding the busses. Seniors may board any bus you would like., and please note: you will have to ride the SAME bus home at the end of the day. After the busses drop our students off, you will walk to the large compass on the ground in between Disneyland and California Adventure, which is where your bus chaperone will hand you your park hopper ticket. With this ticket, you can go into Disneyland first, and then you can go to California Adventure anytime after 1 pm. It is important to know that if you lose your ticket, you will not be able to get into the other park. The day will end after the fireworks, which will be at approximately 9:30 pm. Immediately after the fireworks you will check in with your chaperone back at the compass in between Disneyland and California Adventure.  We hope to return back to Peninsula High School by 10:30 pm.

Declare Day on Wednesday, May 18!
Seniors can gather in the amphitheater during lunchtime to celebrate what you'll be doing and where you'll be going next year! After a kick-off by our band and pep squad, we'll take pictures, including a big Class of '22 picture with all seniors.

We were so happy to see our annual Walk for Life featured in this month's Peninsula Magazine. Our Panther Community came together to raise $40,000 for Cancer Support Community South Bay and City of Hope. It is a wonderful tradition that we were thrilled to be able to organize in-person this past March!
ATTENTION PANTHER PARENTS

We Need You! Please consider getting involved with the Athletic Booster Club for the 2022 – 2023 school year. There are open Board, Chair and Volunteer positions available.

The Athletic Booster Club is a major source of funds for our school’s athletic programs. Roughly one-third of the school’s athletic program budget is funded by the Athletic Booster Club, which funds things like athletic trainer salaries, field and court maintenance for all sports, hydration stations, equipment, Athlete of the Year banquet, and so much more.

The ONLY goal of this group is to raise money to help support the kids. That funding comes through memberships, donations, sponsorships, and merchandise sales. And this directly ensures all Peninsula athletes have the best experience they can as they compete in their sport.

If you are interested and want to learn more about open positions, send us a note at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,

Brent Kuykendall
