On Monday evening, May 9th, the DIS Board of Trustees unanimously approved Ms. Whitney Wheeler as the new Principal of Don T. Durham Intermediate School. Ms. Wheeler has served the last 7 years in Eagle-Mountain Saginaw ISD as an Assistant Principal and Principal at the elementary and middle school levels. “After conducting an extensive search for the right candidate to serve in this role, we are very excited to welcome Ms. Wheeler to the Dragon family as Principal of Durham Intermediate,” said Superintendent Dr. Lane Ledbetter. “She is a high achiever with vast experience in instructional and executive leadership, human capital, and strategic operations. She will serve our intermediate Dragons well.” DIS PTO invites you to a come and go meet-and-greet for Ms. Wheeler to be held at Durham Intermediate on Tuesday, May 24th from 5:00p-6:00pm. LOST & FOUND Please encourage your student to stop by and search for a jacket, lunch box or water bottle. Parents are also welcome to visit the front office and take a look! All items will be donated after the last day!

2022 GT Testing Referral Window for Current CISD Students: April 25th-May 13th DIS Gifted and Talented Testing for current CISD students that have completed their 2021-2022 school year on a Carroll ISD campus will be on June 2nd or August 2nd and 3rd. To register your child for testing, please click on the link HERE and complete the form by Friday, May 13th at 4:00 p.m. More information regarding GT testing and DIS summer testing dates can be found HERE.

Early Release for Last Two Days of School   May 25th & 26th will be early release days! DIS will dismiss at 12:40pm.   A sack lunch will be served each day or students may bring their own lunch!

FROM THE DESK OF NURSE SALLEE 5th and 6th Grade Parents STUDENT MEDICATION PICK UP If you dropped off over the counter or prescription medication for your child, please pick it up from the nurse’s office before the last day of school. We are not able to send medication home with your child. All medications/supplies not picked up will be destroyed at the end of the day on May 26, 2022. 6TH GRADE PARENTS ONLY Please remember to bring a copy of updated shot records to the DIS Nurse.  Students are required to have current immunizations to start 7th grade.  After June 1, all immunizations should sent to the CMS Nurse, Madison Pimpo.
