The Township’s FY 2020 Budget contained a total of $477,000 for street resurfacing to supplement the work of the Ottawa County Road Commission (OCRC). The proposed list of road re-surfacing for 2020 is estimated at
$474,125 and includes the following:
1.
Garnsey Drive – Lakeshore Drive South to Cul-de-sac – 2,799 feet
2.
Wipperwill Drive – Garnsey Drive to Lakeshore – 760 feet
3.
Blackhawk Avenue – Sundew Street to Woodrush Drive – 760 feet
4.
Sundew Street – Acacia Drive to Blackhawk Avenue – 840 feet
5.
Bittersweet Drive – Johnson Street North to Cul-de-sac – 1,869 feet
6.
Sandgate Place – Lakeshore Drive East to Cul-de-sac – 1,003 feet
7.
Indian Trails Court – Comstock Street South to Cul-de-sac – 2,218 feet
8.
Sanctuary Place – Lincoln Street South to Cul-de-sac –744 feet
9.
Jasmin Court – Mercury Drive North to Cul-de-sac – 459 feet
All of the above roadways are rated “fair” and total about 2.2 miles of bituminous asphalt re-surfacing. (
The Township has about 40 miles of subdivision streets. Further, since 1987 the Road Commission delegated 100% of the costs associated with subdivision resurfacing to the Townships. For 2020, Grand Haven Township will resurface about 5.5% of all subdivision streets.)
These are pre-bid estimates and the actual paving cost is typically less↓ than the estimate. Based upon the OCRC bid price and the Township's 2019 financial audit, the Township may be able to add additional streets at a later date.
In addition, the Ottawa County Road Commission will mill 3-inches from Lakeshore Drive between Rosy Mound and Buchanan Street and fill with new bituminous asphalt … starting in July.
