December 2019

THANK YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR FRIENDS!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish our friends a very happy new year, and thank you for the ongoing support that we continue to receive from you! We cannot think of another ministry where your dollar brings as much impact. We don't invest in any physical assets, instead going to where the people are (schools, churches, community groups, etc.). The main goals are AIDS prevention and youth development based on following a godly life style. Whether HIV positive or negative, and regardless of the age of the participants, people see that they have a hope and a future, and are encouraged to live life to the fullest. We have very few expenses and no paid staff here in the U.S. so the percentage of your funds going directly to the ministry is usually around 97%.  Read the testimonies below to see how lives are being changed, and then extend that out to the approximately 225,000 kids who participated this year!

It's not too late to make a contribution for 2019! Please go to our donate page or call 206-423-0306 if you would like to make a contribution by phone. If you're not a monthly donor and one of your new year's resolutions is to "do more to help others" then please consider making regular contributions to this ministry. When you make a contribution on the donate page, you will have the option to set up regular donations using the "multiple payments" option.Thank you again for your support!

     MISSION TRIP 2020 MEETING

On Sunday, January 12, we will hold an informational meeting for those who are interested in participating in next year's mission trip in September. We will talk about places we might visit and activities we will be doing. We will not be "doing a project" like building a hut. We will be coming alongside a ministry that is already in place to join together with them in doing various activities that will highlight the Reach4Life program. A good portion of the time will be spent in schools, both in assemblies and classrooms. We'll also spend time in community venues such as community clubs, churches (including kids' clubs), home visits, etc. It is always fun to work with our very capable friends from the area who carry out the program and to be able to interact with the students and people in the community. The team is usually comprised of people from 5-6 churches so if you are interested, feel free to attend. We usually buy air tickets during January or February when prices are lower so we will try to firm up who is interested by that time. The meeting will be at the home of John & Lorna Packard, 30020 2nd Ct. S., Federal Way, from 6:30-8:00 pm. For questions,  email us  or call 253-946-5953.

    STUDENT TESTIMONIAL

From Khayelitsha Township, Cape Town, grade 11 student: "It's been hard growing up without both parents. My grandma has been raising me by herself. Learning that my mother died of AIDS broke my heart and came with stigma from the community. I was lonely did not have friends and did some house breakings sometimes to get things that I can sell so I can buy food for me and grandma. Early this year I received a R4L bible in the assembly when the team did a roll out in my school. I read the part about "Living loved", I felt something peaceful in my heart, I joined the group a week later I gave my life to Christ. Its like I have a new heart now, I am no longer lonely and discouraged. This bible has changed my life. Now I run an R4L boys club, I love sharing Gods love with others."

TESTIMONIAL

From Tugela Fery, Kwa-Zulu Natal, girl, age 14: "Nothing exciting ever happens in our village, we fetch water from the river, wood to make fire and cook and we help with house chores. As a young person you feel bored by this lifestyle. Nothing inspires us in the villages to dream big. Reach4Life has changed that. We were surprised to receive pretty bibles which did not look like a bible but looked like a fancy cool book. Our peer educator has been coming every day after school to teach us the Bible. I have learned a lot, I am still a village girl but I have better dreams for my life now and I love Jesus though my family believes in ancestors but I am not afraid of their anger towards my faith in Christ, Gods word has great promises and I believe them all. R4L has brought excitement in our village.

    POLICE OFFICER TESTIMONIAL

I joined a R4L group when I was doing my 12 grade 4 years ago, I committed my life to Christ in High school and my faith grew in all the teachings I received from my R4L bible and attending the group gave confidence to make the right decisions knowing that others too were doing the right things in our group. I finished school and took a gap year in which I became a peer educator. I taught 2 schools each week I saw God drawing many kids to Christ. I joined the police force the following year and still participated in many R4L activities in my area. I have just graduated from the force academy. Reach4Life shaped my life. I don't think I would have been here if R4L did not come to my school. Gods word has the power to change a poverty mindset to a victorious mindset in Christ. R4L PE conferences are such an inspiration, seeing others like you pressing on serving God is an encouragement. I would love to go to Bible school and become a pastor one day I do feel a call of God in my life to be a shepherd. May this program continue to grow and reach many young lives.
