Meditation Moment

From the Pastor ....

"For surely I know the plans I have for you says the Lord.
Plans for your welfare
and not for harm;
plans to give you hope
and a future."

(Jeremiah 29:11)

Today is the last Tuesday of this decade. On this threshold of New Year's Eve, we wait with anticipation for 2020. Assuredly, a lot has happened this past year and decade for you. This is a picture of a homemade gift Brian's sister made him for Christmas. We love Dr. Who, a nerdy time traveling super hero. As we say farewell to a year and hello to tomorrow, I remind all of us of a great promise kept: God is with you always. In storms, God carries us. In joys God delights with us. Whatever tomorrow holds, we know the One who holds our hand always--Jesus.

I am thankful for every moment knowing that Christ's track record is perfect. God always keeps promises. God's lavish love is with you!

Eternally,

Pastor Karna

Resolve to Do Your Part in 2020
The change of the calendar from 2019 to 2020 is a time to take stock and set a better course for ourselves in the year ahead.  As Christians dedicated to caring for God's people and God's creation, making changes to face the serious climate change issues easily enters our list of resolutions.  The environmental problems to overcome are dauntingly large, but we can learn a lesson from the tiny, lowly-born baby lying in hay, who was given the task to save all humankind from its sins.  Like the effort to bring salvation, the effort to save God's creation for future generations will require the hearts, hands, and minds of many devoted people.  The Care of Creation committee will help by giving you ideas throughout the year for taking steps.  Your part is to add steps to your list of resolutions for 2020, for we believe the message that ends each of these tips.

A lot of "just one persons" working together can accomplish mighty things. ~ A message from your OSLC Care of Creation team.

Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm

Come join us for an evening of devotion and insight as we practice the fastest growing form of yoga for everyone - chair yoga. Cindy Senarighi of White Bear Lake is an ordained ELCA pastor and founder of Yogadevotion, a company with a mission to "share God's presence and love through the practice of yoga." She will share how yoga, when properly understood, goes beyond the physical to engage all we are: body, mind and spirit. Yoga is about the breath. And, when we connect the breath with the body in our devotional time, it becomes a God breathed experience of God's Promised Presence. We will conclude our evening with time to share in fellowship with one another. RSVP to the church office or 651-439-5704, ext. 101.
